Day-Ahead Market

For Day-Ahead trading, Lumenaza generates an hourly forecast of expected energy generation and estimated consumption for the following day by 12:00 PM. Due to the volatile nature of wind and solar energy, as well as unforeseen maintenance, deviations between actual feed-in and the submitted forecast are inevitable.

Our AI-optimized forecasting tools use real-time generation and consumption data to achieve the most accurate predictions possible. To maximize trading results, we also trade multiple times a day on the Continuous-Intraday Market, minimizing forecast deviations and avoiding high balancing energy costs.

Continuous-Intraday Market

In addition to the Day-Ahead Market, we also leverage short-term electricity trading on the Continuous-Intraday Market for you. Intraday trading refers to the continuous buying and selling of electricity that will be delivered on the same day. This enables us to minimize imbalances in the balancing group through short-term, intra-day trading activities. As a result, potential balancing costs can be significantly reduced.

Consumption Forecasts for RLM, SLP, TLP and iMSyS Customers

Our energy data management includes the provision, processing and storage of balancing group, schedule and metering data. Precise energy data in time series format reflect both generated and consumed volumes, enabling the optimization of procurement and sales through intelligent forecasting. For RLM and iMSyS customers, Lumenaza generates forecasts based on actual metered consumption data. AI-driven algorithms continuously learn from individual customer behavior, refining and improving forecasts over time.

For SLP customers, representative consumption data is used to create and update user profiles, forming the basis for consumption forecasts. For TLP customers, specialized weather data is also incorporated, accounting for the impact of heat pump usage on electricity consumption timing.

What is electricity of clear origin?

Electricity of clear origin is local, green energy whose source is verified through our direct contracts with the plant owners. Often, the electricity purchased via green electricity tariffs is green only on paper; for example, if it comes from Norwegian hydropower plants, it has no real impact on the energy transition in the region. Lumenaza offers the opportunity to purchase genuinely green electricity from the community, giving consumers the certainty that it is produced locally. Consumers clearly understand where the electricity comes from, and because the distance between producer and consumer is short, the grid is less burdened.

What are flexibilities?

In the energy sector, flexibilities refer to the ability to respond to fluctuations in the energy market in order to balance differences between electricity generation and consumption. One example of how such differences can occur is a solar power system that generates energy based on sunlight hours rather than the times when electricity is needed. Flexibilities help balance these differences between supply and demand and therefore stabilize the electricity grid. Flexibilities can be utilized, for instance, by using software to coordinate energy demand over time. This kind of targeted control is known as demand side response.

What is demand side response?

Demand side response (DSR), also known as demand side management (DSM), refers to the targeted control of energy demand—such as electricity consumption. Instead of generating more electricity during short periods of particularly high demand, energy consumption can be managed intelligently with the help of DSR. For example, a supermarket’s frozen food sections can be switched off briefly, or energy-intensive factories can shift their production to a time when the power grid is less heavily loaded.
