Our Virtual Power Plant (VPP) is an innovative solution within our end-to-end offerings for Aggregation and Power Supply, enabling the optimal market integration of decentralized and renewable energy plants, including the smallest units.

With our platform, you can unlock new revenue streams in energy markets and leverage advanced technologies to fully utilize flexibility potential.

How Does It Work?

Lumenaza’s Virtual Power Plant connects small and large decentralized energy assets, such as PV systems, battery storage, and electric vehicles, into a single digital power plant. This allows smaller power generating units to access the energy market and benefit from aggregation.

As an aggregator, you can use our VPP to expand your customer base in this segment. All processes - from registration and monitoring to billing - are digitized and automated, helping you significantly reduce cost-to-serve.

Key Features of Lumenaza’s Virtual Power Plant

Market Integration for Decentralized Assets

The platform enables you to market even the smallest power generating units efficiently. Take advantage of current market conditions, such as historically high electricity prices, to meet the growing demand for aggregation of both subsidized and post-subsidy installations.

Integration and Monitoring of Distributed Resources

Through automated processes, you can seamlessly integrate both new and existing energy generating units into our system. This includes remote control verification and support for multiple aggregation interfaces.

Flexibility Management

Optimize the charging and discharging of home storage systems, electric vehicles, and battery storage. Our solution enables flexible energy management tailored to the modern energy landscape.

Balancing and Forecasting

Use precise generation and consumption forecasts to efficiently manage energy schedules. Additionally, balancing group forecasts and spot market compensation are automatically integrated, ensuring transparent data insights.

Energy and Meter Data Management

Manage contracts, customers, and market processes such as MaBiS and MPES directly within our SaaS platform, ensuring seamless integration and automated workflows.

Data-Driven Efficiency & Extensive APIs

Our Virtual Power Plant continuously collects large datasets, which can be accessed through comprehensive APIs and directly integrated into your systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is electricity of clear origin?

Electricity of clear origin is local, green energy whose source is verified through our direct contracts with the plant owners. Often, the electricity purchased via green electricity tariffs is green only on paper; for example, if it comes from Norwegian hydropower plants, it has no real impact on the energy transition in the region. Lumenaza offers the opportunity to purchase genuinely green electricity from the community, giving consumers the certainty that it is produced locally. Consumers clearly understand where the electricity comes from, and because the distance between producer and consumer is short, the grid is less burdened.

What are flexibilities?

In the energy sector, flexibilities refer to the ability to respond to fluctuations in the energy market in order to balance differences between electricity generation and consumption. One example of how such differences can occur is a solar power system that generates energy based on sunlight hours rather than the times when electricity is needed. Flexibilities help balance these differences between supply and demand and therefore stabilize the electricity grid. Flexibilities can be utilized, for instance, by using software to coordinate energy demand over time. This kind of targeted control is known as demand side response.

What is demand side response?

Demand side response (DSR), also known as demand side management (DSM), refers to the targeted control of energy demand—such as electricity consumption. Instead of generating more electricity during short periods of particularly high demand, energy consumption can be managed intelligently with the help of DSR. For example, a supermarket’s frozen food sections can be switched off briefly, or energy-intensive factories can shift their production to a time when the power grid is less heavily loaded.
